A well-planned career is instrumental in a happy and satisfied life. Parents are always worried about the future of their children. They always want to do something better for the career of their children. Many times their experience and efforts prove to be effective in career selection and sometimes their thinking and decisions limit the career selection of their children.

Many times parents impose their desires and thoughts on the children. They think that the path suggested by them is better. In such a situation, they ignore the potential and interest of the children. In view of things like getting a higher status in the society and earning more money, they put pressure on their children to choose such careers.

Today the role of parents seems to be changing. Today parents listen and understand the children by becoming a friend, a guide and a teacher and Help them to choose a good career of their choice for their better future. Thus, the role of parents in education and career selection of their children is of the utmost importance. 

The role of parents is important in the career selection of children, while playing it, some things should be kept in mind like – 

  They should motivate their children to achieve their goals. 

  Parents encourage the children to give their best through confidence and hard work.

  Parents should support their children by being a facilitator.

  If children make wrong decisions then they should assist them in taking right decisions.

 Parents should allow them make choice of their own career decisions rather than getting influenced and then making a choice. 

  Parents should show them what they are good at rather than impose their own decisions on children. The role of parents in choosing a career is important and significant. But parents should play this role with great responsibility. Instead of forcing they should motivate the children to take decisions independently according to their interests and abilities.
